Vandring genom staden

Between September - October, I made a series of walks from my home in the newly built district Norra Djurgårdsstaden, to my studio situated in Konstfack, Telefonplan. The walks were 11 km on average. I crossed the inner city through parks, plazas, forest paths, alleys and high traffic roads by foot, while collecting materials that I found on the way in a sixtyfive litre backpack. Continuing the research in my studio by boiling, diluting, grinding, and purifying the materials, I produced various pigments, which were then applied to canvas using gum arabic, hide glue or alum as medium. The walks ended up becoming series of monochrome paintings that I showed in Trapphusgalleriet at Konstfack.
